Delta Engine - About

In short: You can use the source code freely on PC platforms, improve it, build products, sell them, etc. without paying us a dime. For any other platform you need our platform services (free during the Beta with limitations or pay for unlock everything, see Pricing).

External libraries used in the Delta Engine each have their own licensing terms and are not covered by these licenses.

License for the Delta Engine public source code, which provides PC libraries only:

Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License"); you may not use the Delta Engine source code except in compliance with the License. You may obtain a copy of the License at http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software distributed under the License is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied. License for the Delta Engine Services, which are available for free during the Beta (with limitations, see Pricing):

Permission is hereby granted to any person obtaining a Delta Engine Services license, to use the Services without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, edit, change, test, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of any software created with the Services as long as the Services license is active for all developers contributing in the software. This includes all those rights to any derived works from the Delta Engine public source code as long as Services licenses are active. If you use the Service, you accept this license. If you do not accept the license, do not use the Service.

Use our tools and services to get your application running on non PC platforms! This license includes all service parts and any source code not part of the public release (modules, source files, services, tools). You also CANNOT use any of the Delta Engine source code, tools or services directly on other platforms (mobile, consoles, web, etc.) without a Delta Engine Services license or in competing products or decompile or reverse engineer services we provide. Getting full access to Non-PC platform source code for testing and debugging also requires a company license and a signed NDA (contact: Info@DeltaEngine.net).

You are allowed to modify the public Delta Engine source code and push changes back via the public repository at https://GitHub.com/DeltaEngine, http://DeltaEngineDotNet.Codeplex.com or http://DeltaEngineCpp.Codeplex.com, but you cannot publish, distribute, sublicense and/or sell copies of the Delta Engine Services!

The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Delta Engine Services.
